Hello Academy Parents and Players,

I’m Lorenzo Maggio originally from Italy. I started playing volleyball at the beginning of high school, in one of the most prestigious volleyball academies in Italy; after my final year of school (1 Italian title and 2 silver medals), I decided to retire from sport played to follow my passion for coaching.

In the following years as a coach, I won 1 Italian title, 2 silver medals, and 2 bronze medals with Volley Treviso in youth championship, 1 Serie A3 Championship and an Italian Cup with Volley Prata in the professional league. I also worked with the Italian U19 National Team under the technical direction of Julio Velasco.

My coaching philosophy is based not only on the development of technical fundamentals but also on the understanding of the principles of individual tactics and the development of problem-solving in game situations, essential in our sport. I am honored and excited to become one of the coaches at Academy Volleyball, and I hope to convey my passion for this sport to the players.
