Dylan Staud
Head Coach
Hello Academy Parents and Players,
My name is Dylan Staud and I’m a bay area native growing up in San Jose. I started playing volleyball when I was 11 years old for my middle school and continued into high school. I developed a deep passion for the sport early on and am grateful I still have my closest friendships in life through the teams I have been on. In high school, my team was 3x league champions and won a CCS regional title in 2018. After high school, I continued playing for San Jose State University on their Men’s club team for two seasons.
I started coaching boys in 2021 for Bay to Bay volleyball club. My first season was with the 17-Premier team and we won 3rd place at AAU Nationals. My second season with Bay to Bay I coached the 18-Premier team where we sent 5 seniors to play in college. I also was with the 13-1 team in this time who finished on the podium in three travel tournaments and ultimately finishing 5th at AAU Nationals. Currently, I coach the 11-1s team for Bay to Bay which has been great so far. I have also coached girls for Encore Volleyball club for two seasons before joining Academy.
As a coach, I understand the critical role I play in shaping the hearts and minds of all the athletes I get the opportunity to work with. My goal is to foster a positive and supportive environment where athletes feel confident in their abilities and are motivated to work hard. I believe that success comes not just from talent, but from consistent effort and growth. Volleyball is more than a game—it teaches valuable life lessons, such as teamwork, communication, discipline, and resilience. These lessons extend beyond the court, helping athletes succeed in school, family life, and future challenges. My focus is on building well-rounded individuals who understand that small, everyday actions—whether in a game, at home, or in the classroom—can lead to meaningful achievements.
Looking forward to meeting everyone soon!!
